How to choose an AI audiobook maker: what to compare

A checklist for comparing AI audiobook makers: formats, chapters, voice casting, editing, rights, pricing and store rules, with how Warblize answers each.

We make Warblize, so read this as a checklist first and a pitch second. Prices and features are from our facts page, last verified October 10, 2026.

The checklist

  1. Formats in. Can you upload the file you already have? Warblize accepts EPUB, PDF, DOCX and TXT up to 100 MB.
  2. Chapters. Are chapters detected and exported as markers? Warblize detects them and exports markers in M4B and MP3.
  3. Voices and casting. How many voices, and can characters have different ones? Warblize has 30 voices and a cast screen for a voice per character.
  4. Editing. Can you fix one sentence without regenerating the book? In Warblize you edit and regenerate a single sentence.
  5. Languages. How many, and how good are the accents? Warblize offers 40+ languages with local accents and translates as it narrates.
  6. Export. What do you get? Warblize exports M4B, MP3 and WAV with cover art.
  7. Rights. Can you sell what you make? Warblize includes commercial rights. Check this for every tool you consider.
  8. Price per finished hour. Work it out, not the headline plan price. Warblize is one credit per up to 60 minutes. A typical 10-hour novel is about 10 credits.
  9. Store fit. Will your target store accept it? See where you can sell an AI-narrated audiobook.

How to test

Take the same two pages of your book, one with dialogue and one with names and numbers, and generate them in each tool. Listen on headphones, not speakers. The tool that gets your names right with the least editing will save you the most time on a whole book.
